Dear KiKi,

I have this…family member. Let’s call her…Aunt Barb. Ever since the 2016 Election, Aunt Barb has decided she’s a regular old small-town political pundit. Did she even ever vote before let alone show any interest in politics? Hell no. I honestly never minded what anyone’s political party was. I am well aware that based on the region where I’m from, my family sat at about 50/50. But Barb, Barb just took things to that extreme level, getting progressively worse as the years went by. Today, she is a full-blown conspiracy theorist who incessantly bullies anyone — including other family members — who don’t agree with her way of thinking. (Which is insane, for what it’s worth.) I really don’t give a rat’s ass and am fine ignoring her, but it is tearing my mother apart. And I have to be that sounding board. People like to advise that it’s ok to let go of toxic relationships, even if they are family, but this is a large, small-town family and there is no escaping one another. And to stand up to Aunt Barb causes the drama to explode. I just don’t know what to do anymore.
