I didn't have a chance to comment on this last night -- I LOVED reading this. I'm also from upstate New York...well, Northern New York, actually. North of Plattsburgh. Was born in Saranac Lake. I went to school my first two years at Oswego...and my Dad's family were from Syracuse. We spent a lot of time there! Your descriptions really brought me back.
