The Memoirist, Age of Empathy, and Black Bear fall under the same publishing umbrella and are all part of Medium’s Boost Program. The Tranquil Tavern also publishes a few of our smaller, but specialized, pubs:

QuickTalk

QuickTalk has been around for about as long as The Memoirist has — I started them just about the same time. Originally, QuickTalk was, you know, a sandbox or playground or experimental type pub where “anything goes.” Today it’s a private pub showcasing pieces about writing, The Colors of Life column by Yana Bostongirl, QuickTips for Writers by kasey sparks, and Pub Crawl by me, KiKi Walter. It is also the home of my collaborative @Medium Publication Directory with over 350 pubs listed.

Songstories

Songstories was founded by Christopher Robin and was, in fact, how we met and began a now year-long partnership. To best describe this pub, I’ll use Chris’ words from our About page:
